Labour Union
Labour Union
Representation is important. Imagine the workforce unheard, their rights exploited, and their needs unattended to. If they are unheard, it will lead to their dissatisfactions in their jobs, or worse even to the exploitation of their craft. This is why it is then necessary that there are labour unions.
There are numerous labour unions in the United States alone. What labour unions seek to do is to represent the interests of a particular work sector. Of course, one work sector's needs are different from another. Teachers have different needs than firefighters, farmers, and other professionals. This is why a specialized labor union represents a specific labor group.
Labor unions push for favorable working conditions for the particular sector they represent. Although labor unions are grossly misrepresented as those who demand more than what is necessary, labor unions only seek out that they are given what is due. Labor unions advocate legislations and policies favorable or more beneficial to all concerned.
Anyone who is voluntarily acknowledged by their employer, or have a majority of workers in a bargaining unit can join labour unions. These labour unions are governed by labor laws and labor boards particular to the state that they belong to.
