Work. Back-breaking toil. Chores. There is usually something quite negative when people talk about labor. Ideas of hard work, strenuous activities, and an exertion of effort are usually tied to the idea of labor. But labor is more than just manual jobs.

A quick discussion on labor would have to include several points on the narratives of workers (those who provide the desired service—or can be viewed as a supplier) and employers (or those who demand the provision of service).

Labor is of primary importance in economics. For labor in the economic sense is the work put by human beings. Labor is important in the field of finance and economics because in order for the workforce to move, it is important that people must provide service—usually in the form of manual labor. Human capital is central in the discussion labor. True that they provide the actual work themselves, but it is their skills which make for the human capital.
